Microneedling with PRP
The microneedling with PRP treatment can be broken down into two main steps, including:
Step 1: PRP:
In order to collect the platelet-rich plasma from your blood, a routine blood draw will be performed. The blood is then placed into a machine called a centrifuge, which will spin to separate the platelets from the other blood components. Once the platelets are separated, they are collected and applied to the treatment area.
Step 2: Microneedling:
Next, a special microneedling pen will be used to create micro-wounds in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production, while simultaneously pushing the platelet-rich plasma deep into the skin for optimal absorption.
What to Expect After a PRP Microneedling Facial
Following treatment, mild redness or sensitivity is common and typically lasts 2–3 days. Your skin may feel warm or tight during this time. Sun protection is essential, as your skin will be more sensitive—daily sunscreen use is strongly recommended.
Many patients notice an improvement in skin texture and glow shortly after treatment, with continued enhancement over the following weeks as collagen production increases.
