What is the O-Shot?

The natural aging process can bring about many changes for women. Many women report urinary incontinence, vaginal dryness, and a lower libido as they age. Thankfully, there is a non-surgical solution to these issues called the O-shot. This treatment uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to treat a number of age-related intimate problems.

This treatment offers many benefits, including:

  • Tighter vaginal skin.
  • Increases natural lubrication.
  • Increases sensitivity and stimulation.
  • Helps to diminish mild stress urinary incontinence.
  • Reduces pain during intercourse.
  • Increases libido.

O-Shot Candidates

Women who are experiencing sexual concerns such as pain during intercourse, lack of sexual desire, vaginal dryness, and more can benefit from the O-Shot. Menopausal and post-menopausal women, in particular, will find that this treatment is very beneficial. The best way to find out if this treatment is right for you is to schedule a consultation appointment at our Grand Rapids, MI office.

The O-Shot Treatment

Because the O-Shot treatment employs the use of PRP, it is completed through a multiple-step process, which involves:

Step 1:

Utilizing a specialized blood collection tube, a practitioner draws a small amount of blood similar to what is required for a basic lab test.

Step 2:

The tube is then placed into a centrifuge which spins the blood at a very high speed, causing the platelets to separate from other components of the blood.

Step 3:

A topical anesthetic cream will be applied, and a local anesthetic will be injected to completely numb the treatment area. PRP is then injected into the G spot and clitoris. Because of the use of a local anesthetic, you should not feel any pain during injection.

What to Expect Following the O-Shot

Following the O-Shot, there is no downtime required, so you can return to your daily activities right away. You will experience an initial increase in sensation which may lead to hypersensitivity for the first few days. However, the effects will calm down over the next couple of weeks.

Patients should receive one treatment a year to maintain results.
